A native of Bowling Green, Mitchell has been involved in the local music scene since he was six years old when he took up the drums. Playing with local favorites such as Ty Barc, Kenny Lee and Michael Gough, Mitchell specializes in blues drumming, a talent which he has passed on to his son Mitch.
A poet, Mitchell launched his journalism career with The Amplifier as a cover story and music news writer in March of 1996. In 1997 Mitchell began classes in WKU's Journalism Department and after graduating worked at the Park City Daily News. He still occasionally submits stories for the Amplifier but most of his time these days is dedicated to working on his book.
