Kelly Thompson, Jr. was born in Bowling Green. He graduated
highschool as well as Western Kentucky University in just three
years each, going on to graduate the University of Kentucky in 1972.
Since that time he has represented clients in hundreds of trials in various
positions within Kentucky's legal system. In the course of his career
he has appeared on several national programs discussing his cases including
Larry King Live and 20/20.
In the mid 70's Kelly began a solo practice in Bowling
Green and was soon after appointed by the Warren Fiscal Court as
Public Advocate of the Eighth Judical District. He
has secured the second largest and fourth largest civil judgements in the
history of Warren County and is an active collection lawyer.
Kelly has been an officer of the Bowling Green Warren
County Bar Association and believes in civility and dispute resolution
quickly, fairly and with the least expense to clients. He contracts
out cases to several other lawyers in order to better serve more clients
while remaining solo in his practice.
After serving as the Editor of the BAR
TABloid which is distributed to those in legal professions, Kelly
began sharing some of the contributors funny courtroom stories with Amplifier
Readers in the form of True Stories From The Courtroom. A
music and Arts lover, Kelly has also contributed band reviews to The
Amplifier, and has served as it's legal counsel since it's first
edition in 1995.
